Kris was kind enough to give me web/file hosting on i-think.com.ph. I decided to move my blog there. My URL is still godiane.net.

Thanks, WordPress! You’ve been really nice!

Been A Long Time

It’s been more than a month since I updated by blog. I’ve been busy the past month at work.

For those who care, well, I’ve already moved to Alabang, near my work. I live in a dorm with no fridge, and no internet connection. Whenever I want to go online, I still have to walk towards Starbucks Madrigal Avenue to connect. It’s tiring but at least I’m getting exercise.

When online, I just check my email, do important stuffs like reading feeds, and reading/listening Japanese. When I’m sick and tired of reading, I open my messenger and try to chat with my close friends.

On days that I’m too lazy to walk, I read books. In the past, I always finish a moderately thick book in one sitting, even if I don’t sleep anymore. Saikin wa, dame desu. I can’t do that now because I have a roommate to consider: lights off by 12 midnight. What I’m doing right now is that I read a few chapters of the book each day such that I’d finish the book by Friday.

On weekends, I still return to my parents’ house, and enjoy their cable connection every night time. In the day time, I’m either reading more about computers, enjoying the company of my family and friends, or just sleeping.

My life now is more, uh, moderate. It’s like I always have to think, always have to consider. Life didn’t get easier, but it became peaceful and simple. I think I like my life better now.

I’ve been researching on foods that do not need refrigeration. I’ve been living in a dorm the past few days, and I noticed that my expenses were much higher compared to when I was bringing food to work. I decided to buy foods that I don’t need to put on the fridge and can bring to work as well.

1. Canned goods - Spanish sardines in can, tuna, kernel corn
2. Wheat Bread
3. Peanut Butter
4. Oatmeal
5. Butter - Shelf life is two weeks; just have to store it in a cool, dry place
6. Apple
7. Banana
8. Salt and Pepper
9. Powdered Chocolate Drink
10. Powdered Milk Drink
11. Honey
12. Green Tea

My supply is good for one to two weeks. And each meal (with drinks) costs only about 40-50 Philippine Pesos (about US$1 or so). Yay!

I think I’m enjoying this no-fridge lifestyle. It does not only cut my costs on food and electricity, it also helps the environment as well. Hope I can sustain this for the next few months or years.
